Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Erin's preschool had a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Orem on Wednesday.  I got to go with her while Bucky stayed home with Levi and Meagan.  It was actually quite fun.  Erin doesn't often get a parent to herself and she thought it was awesome.  We played on the playsets, looked at the animals, got 'lost' in the corn maze, and ate chocolate chip pumpkin cookies.   Here are some pictures I took.

Scout Incident

I had scouts yesterday and one of the things we were supposed to cover was to have them draw a picture of a person, place or thing.  One of the boys says, "Oh so we need to draw a verb."  Another boy pipes right up and says, "No, idiot, draw a noun!"

I had to tell him to be nice but it was actually quite humorous.  All the boys laughed including the one who said the verb comment so I guess it was all good.

New House

We are buying a new house.  It has happened really quickly and I'm still spinning.  We saw the house on Wednesday, offered Thursday afternoon, and had an acceptance on Friday morning.  We are hoping to close the 1st or 2nd of  November.  Really fast!

Well, Erin was in the room when Bucky passed on the information that we got the house.  She started talking and trying to talk us out of a new house because she likes her bed and toys.  We explained to her that she will still have all of her stuff but at a new house.  She still doesn't like the idea so we take her over so she can see her new room.  Still not excited.  We're hoping it changes over the next 2 weeks.

We weren't going to tell people yet because with the economy you never know if it will all go through until you actually sign the papers at closing.  I took Erin to school and she tells her teacher, "Don't worry!  When we are in my new house my mom will still bring me to school."  Miss Amber looks at me and says, "Oh the things you learn at preschool!"  Seriously everyone knew by that night.  At least I'll get out of my scouting calling.

On an interesting note we will have moved when I was 6 weeks pregnant with Erin, when Erin was 6 days old, when Levi was 6 weeks old and when Meagan is 6 months old.  Good thing I'm done with 3 or we'd be moving when the next one turns 6 years old!

Golden Corral Lunch

We went to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Condor and Uncle Michael during Fall Break as well.  We usually go to Golden Corral because my kids pig out on the fruit and Bucky loves the rolls.  Anyway, I was helping Erin show off her knowledge asking her silly questions.  I threw out, "Who's your favorite grandma?"  She looks at me with a 'look' and points to Grandma Condor.  Smart girl!  Go with the present Grandma!  (Of course, it changes on a daily basis depending on who is around.  Her favorite Grandma to visit is Grandma Debbie because she has apple trees, swingsets, and dogs!)

While at lunch Michael was holding Meagan who cuddles with nobody lately.  She's in a straight arm you stage and will only sleep in her carseat or her crib.  She won't even sleep in our bed!  Bucky tried the other night and she cried until he took her back to her own bed.  So Michael was holding her and she starts running her fingers through his beard and gets this mesmerized look on her face.  Next thing we know she has her head on his shoulder and is sound asleep with her fingers in his beard.  As soon as he moved her hand she woke up and that was the end of that!

Meagan update pictures

Meagan is changing so fast its amazing.  Here are a couple of pics I took the other day.  Not to worry, however, her hair still stands straight up on top!

Backyard Campout

Bucky had Fall Break Thursday and Friday.  Erin has been begging to go camping but of course it has been too cold in the mountains.  Being the truly amazing father he is, Bucky put up the tent and braved the night with Erin and Levi in the backyard.  He froze because he gave them the good sleeping bags. He even went above and beyond by building a tiny fire in the garden so they could roast marshmallows.  Hey, I helped too!  I made dutchoven potatoes (okay so I used the oven) and bought the marshmallows!

Also, while this blessed event was occuring I painted the hallway and stayed up with Meagan until midnight because the sweetheart didn't want to go to sleep!

Fall Leaves

We drove the Alpine Loop the other day.  For those of you who don't know it takes you up American Fork Canyon and around and out Provo Canyon.  The leaves were beautiful!  We stopped to gather some and Levi climbed up with me.  He turns around and starts running down the mountain full tilt and, of course, he falls.  He's laying in between to bushes with bright red leaves saying, "Oh Momma I fell down!  Help me! Help me!"  It was one of those funny moments.  We stopped at the falls in Provo canyon to have a picnic.  Believe me it was gourmet!  As in, ham & cheese sandwiches and pudding snack packs!  I think it was an enjoyable time.  The leaves are the only thing I love about Fall!

Clean Floor

I actually got around to mopping the bathroom floor today.  I didn't really think it was that bad until Levi came in after it dried and said, "Floor? Clean?"  I told him yes and he cames and gives me a big kiss and says, "So shiny!  Thank you Momma!"

Mouse in the House

Erin ran in the kitchen where I was making lunch and says, "Mom I saw a mouse!"  Of course, I go to look.  Meanwhile, she tells me, "Is it the same mouse as in Green Eggs & Ham?"  Then she decides its time to be deathly afraid of mice so she jumps on the couch and starts screaming so then Levi has to do the same thing.  Lets just hope they scared the mouse to death!

After church surprise

We were loading the kids in the van yesterday and Bucky told them to get in their seats so we could go home.  All the sudden this little boy pops up and says, "No wait!  I'm not done yet!"  He was busy peeing in front (hopefully) of our van.  His mom was looking for him so Bucky yells to her that he's over here.  She asked him what he was doing and Bucky grinned and said, "Peeing!"  I think she was very embarrassed but we sure got a laugh out of it.  All I can say is at least it wasn't my kid!

Bears...

So Erin has this irrational fear of bears.  We drive through the woods and its "oh no the bears are going to get me."  She cried at night because the bears are in her room so we got a bunk\bed and told her that bears can't get her.  Then she worries about Levi on the bottom bunk and tells us all about all the bears she saw last night.  This is an ongoing thing for the last, oh, 6 months.  Levi seemed oblivious.  Then today we went visit Bucky's aunt who just had surgery.  Her husband is an avid hunter and among the things he has hunted recently are black bears.  He had 2 of them made into rugs and they are in the front room.  We walked in and Levi was fine until he looks down at it.  He jumped at least a foot and ran and leaped onto the couch and would not go anywhere near those rugs.  Erin couldn't stay away. but she told Vicki that she couldn't have those in her room because she would think they were real and  be super scared!

Hair Fiasco #1 and #2

THE HAIR FIASCOS

Many of you may remember Hair Fiasco #1.....
Notice the right side of the top of her head.

However for those of you who don't this is what happened:
Last November 30th Bucky brought home some "goop" he made with the junior high school students one day.  Unknowingly, I went to bed because I was 4 months pregnant and having one of the wonderful migraines I get while pregnant.  Bucky proceeded to play with the kids and the 'goop'.  He jokingly put it all over his face and so Erin followed suite by putting it all over her hair.  Hmmm..  Instead of waking me up Bucky just cut it out.  Here's the kicker....because Erin told him to.  Yeah listen to the 3 year old!  Bucky thought it wouldn't wash out.  However, come to find out it was all water soluble ingredients.  I cried.  Then I called my friend Star to see if she could fix it.  She told us to come right over so we did.  She did what she could to make it not so pronounced (yeah right).  Erin and Daddy had a firm talking to that the only people who cut hair are mommies and hair doctors.   Erin went to nursery that week and when someone asked her what happened to her hair she told her, "I went to the hair doctor and my mommy was mad!"  Good times.

As a result of this goop is banned from my house.  Bucky now knows to wake me up if there is an emergency. I also thought Erin knew that only Mom and hair doctors cut hair....WRONG!

Hair fiasco #2:

Thankfully this time it was just the bangs.  I'm sure glad I had the rest of it pulled back at the time! When questioned about it she told me that her hair was in her eyes so she decided to play hair doctor.  Secretly the thought crossed my mind that at least she could have cut Levi's hair instead since its not a big deal to shave his off cuz it grows so stinking fast!

Sleeping

Erin has a real problem with sleeping.  I put her to bed and it is at least 2 hours before she goes to sleep.   I've tried all the steady routines and other stuff and it hasn't worked.  She kept waking up crying during the nights so I asked her doc if she could be having nightmares.  She told me that Erin was getting too tired and suggested putting her to bed at 7 pm.  I thought that was a little extreme so we start bedtime routine at 7:15.  It still takes her hours to fall asleep but 9 or 10 is better than 11 or 12.

Levi also has real problems sleeping.  He falls asleep quickly but then is up a lot.  One time I counted and he was up 20 times.  Now we have him down to a solid 2 or 3.  Much better.

I get enough sleep....can you tell!  JK

I caught this picture of Erin sleeping the other night and thought it was a keeper.

Cute right?  BUT....

Even better!

Feeding me too much!

The other day Erin was going #2 like every hour on the hour.  Finally I asked her why she had to poop so much today.  Her answer was quite logical.  She said, "Well Mom you feed me too much!"

Washed the Blankie...Oops

This morning I was throwing a bunch of clothes in the washing machine and thought that I should probably throw Levi's blankie in while I was at it because there was plenty of time before naptime and maybe he wouldn't notice.  He considers it totally taboo to 'give blankie a bath.'  Well, I got busy doing other stuff and forgot to change the laundry so he had to go take a nap without blankie and he was very unhappy about it.  When it was dry I took it in and put it on him.  Later I knew he was awake because I heard him yell, "Oh blankie! You are clean! Thankyou Momma!"

Can't close my eyes!

Erin was refusing to take a nap.  I finally went in and sat by her to try and get her to fall asleep.  She just layed there and stared at me.  Finally I said, "Erin close your eyes."  Her reply was, of course, "I don't know how."  I told her to use her fingers so she pushed her eyes closed with her fingers and seriously less than 30 seconds later she started snoring.  She was exhausted and too stubborn to go to sleep because she thinks she's to big for naps.  She also thinks she's big enough for things like sleepovers when she still doesn't sleep thru the night most of time.  Silly chicken!

Momma times....

"You Again"
On Saturday night Lyndsey and I went to see the new movie "You Again."  It was quite hilarious but it was also a total chic flick.  Good times.  I don't honestly think I've been to a movie since we went and saw "New Moon."  Pathetic.  Plus I was out until almost midnight which in itself is an adventure I don't do to frequently anymore.  I am starting to act OLD.
Volleyball
I am such a wimp!  I went and played Stake volleyball last night.  Only 6 people showed up so we had to play 3 on 3 the entire 2 hours.  It seriously took no time at all for me to start sweating and my legs to get trembly.  I had a blast though and I wasn't even the worst player there even though I hadn't played for over 4 years!  By the time I got home I was already sprouting bruises and sore all over.  Erin told me I'm walking funny today.  I need to work out more!  My arms seriously have a ton of little bruises from bumping the ball.  I never realized how much the kids grab that portion of my anatomy!

I am stubborn too!

We went over to Grandma RaNae's yesterday to kill some time while Bucky was working late at Parent Teacher Conferences.  She took Meagan who immediately began to cry and fuss.  Grandma tried everything to get her to be happy.  Finally I took her back and she looks at Grandma and starts laughing.  From that point on she smiled and talked and laughed at her as long as I was holding her.  She knew what she wanted and was not giving in until she had it!  I guess that's what we get for naming her after RaNae!

Evil Laughter

I gave Levi a sippy cup and his blankie as part of our Tues/Thurs Erin-at-school routine.  He then runs into the livingroom and jumps on my chair.  I played along and asked him if he stole my chair.  He grins and says, "Yeah."  I then said, "You are a little thief!"  He grins even bigger and gives a big dramatic "Ha HA HAAA!"

Cleaning Elves?

Levi and I cleaned the kid's room while Erin was at school.  When she got home she yells, "Hey who cleaned my room!" I laughed and asked her who she thought did it and she replied, "The little bitty elves did it."  Then she looks at me and says, "I like it better messy."
