Lost Voice

I've been sick for the last 3 days.  So has Bucky but the bum is already better while I just keep getting worse.  I guess it has something to do with getting less sleep.  I was only up 5 times last night....with Erin and Levi.  Meagan slept from 9:30 pm to 8 am without waking up.  *grins*

Anyways. Erin wanted to know why I have to whisper.  I told her that I lost my voice.  Afterwards Erin and Levi went around the house yelling "Voice, come out, come out ,wherever you are!" for at least 15 minutes.  Then they came up and hugged me and told me it was lost forever.  I sure hope not!  Ever tried to direct 3 rambunctious children without a voice?  Good times.

The Big #5 Anniversary

It was our 5 year anniversary on Friday.  Let us just say it was a pretty normal day.  I threw Erin her birthday party that day.  That night for dinner we had tattertots and hotdogs.  Oh yummy!  Afterwards we took Grandpa Kirk his birthday present of cheeseball and wheat thins.  We didn't go out because Levi was still really sick and we couldn't leave him with a babysitter.  In fact, we spent the entire evening holding Levi and then the night with him peacefully kicking us!  Ahhh.....thats life!

Saturday we did celebrate a little more though.  We went out to dinner at a new Mexican restaurant down the street.  We weren't too overly impressed but hey that didn't stop us from over eating!  No wonder we no longer look like the skinny kids we were when we got married!  We also went and played some pool for the 1st time in 5 years.  It was actually really fun.  We were out until 11 pm.  I felt rather naughty!  :)

Primary Program

Today was the primary program in our ward.  Erin's part was the 1st Article of Faith and she did an awesome job.  Then she started to do the next kid's lines.  Oops.   She made it about 3/4th of the way through the program and then she came down to where I was sitting.  When I asked her why she wasn't up there singing (her favorite thing to do!) she told me "I need to get the wiggles out!  I sat there and sat there and sat there!"  I convinced her to eat a snack and then go back up and finish.  She starts back up the aisle and seriously walked like it was a death march.  Slowly with each step weighing a ton.  She got up there and instead of going back to her seat she sat on one of the teacher's laps and scowled at everybody for the rest of the program.  Man that girl is stubborn!  Cute but stubborn!

Namesakes.

I caught the cutest picture of Grandma RaNae and little Meagan RaNae the other day and I just have to share it!

She has Grandpa Kirk wrapped around her pinky too and here's the proof!

Sick Little Boy

Levi has been such a sick little boy for the last week.  He's had a fever and been very whiny and needy.  We have survived.  He sure likes to cuddle when he's sick.  We gave him his first blessing.  He really didn't like the oil on his head so we had to follow it up with a bath.  One night he was sleeping in our bed.  He was joyfully kicking me (I have bruises to prove it!) and pretending to snore.  It was almost humorous!  I'm so thankful he's finally almost back to normal.  Now I don't feel bad kicking him back to his own bed!

Erin's Birthday Party

Erin had a birthday party and we had 7 3&4 year old little girls here.  She thought it was super fun but her favorite part was opening presents.  She got some really awesome ones....like a pillow pet.  Yeah.   We also played Duck Duck Goose and Ring Around the Rosies and Hokey Pokey and Farmer in the Dell and a couple of other ones.  Each girl got her own candle in her brownie to blow out after Happy Birthday.  I think it was a success.  Here is the documentary:
Say Cheese!

Silly faces!

Abbi and Erin

Megan and Erin

Faith and Erin

McKinley and Erin

Saydey and Erin

Happy Birthday to you!

Bouncy Balloons!

Happy Birthday to Erin!

Erin turned 4 on the 23rd.  She had a wonderful day packed full of fun.  We started the morning with waffles followed by a bubble bath and they preschool.  She got to take the show and tell bag and snacks!  She was so excited.  We gave her her presents first thing in the morning.  She got a zuzu pet and a bicycle helmet.  After her really really fast like a racer comment I decided it was definitely time for that!  After school she had a little rest and then we made brownies (instead of cake).  We were 1/2 way through when she said, "Oh Mom I forgot I wanted a carrot cake!" (I don't even know if she's ever had carrot cake!)  So I painted a carrot on top of the brownies.  We also went to the park and had a family birthday party with Grandpa Kirk and Grandma RaNae.

Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Gerry gave Erin 2 new outfits.  When I showed them to her she got very excited and said, "For me?  From the STORE?!?"  I guess I need to stop going to yard sales so much!

Pictures follow:

She named the hamster Periwinkle.

Levi wanted to help blow out the candles too of course but since he's been sick we made him blow them out on his own individual piece of brownie!

Done yet?

I went visiting teaching today.  When we got there Janene pulled out a bucket of toys for him to play with while we visited.  He played for about 15 minutes and picked the toys all up and put them away.   He then crawled up next to me for about 10 minutes and finally says, "Mama you done yet?"  I think he was ready to go!  The other ladies thought it was really cute and it got us out of there.  Smart boy.

Like a Racer

Erin was sitting on my lap today talking to me non-stop like usual.  She says, "Mom when Dad was outside with us yesterday I was riding my bike really really super fast like a racer and I ran over my toe and it really hurt!"  She always does everything in life 'really really super fast like a racer'.  I seriously feel like she needs to wear a helmet 24/7 to help my heart out!

Daddy's Turn

Erin was eating lunch yesterday and she pipes up and says, "Mom thankyou for always cooking dinner for us."  I told her that she was welcome and she comes back with, "You're not part of the family anymore cuz its daddy's turn to make dinner."  I think she meant that I needed a break and Dad needed to cook.  The best part is that it was Bucky who made them lunch!

Dingleberry

Erin and Levi were playing with Meagan's little walker car thing this morning.  Erin was driving and Levi wanted her to turn so he yells, "Turn already Dingleberry!" I guess I need to talk to Bucky about calling other drivers dingleberries when he has roadrage.   I must say though that it was funny to hear a 2yrold say dingleberry.  Erin's reply was just as good.  She said, "I'm working on it raspberry!"

Birthday Cupcakes!

Bucky told Erin it was my birthday.  She got really excited because she loves birthdays right now.  She yells, "Mom I need to make you a birthday cake!  Then she pauses for a second and says, "Will you help me?"  So here are pictures of us making birthday cupcakes.
Step #1:  The exciting preparation!
Step #2:  The dumpage and awesome turn on stage.

Step #3: Line the cupcake pan. Isn't she an adorable pastry chef?

Step #4:  Lick the beaters...the best part!

Okay so there are no pictures of us eating white cupcakes covered in whip cream and raspberries but they were way super yummy!

Also no birthday pictures of me because I am always the one behind the camera.  Well there was one taken by Erin while making cupcakes.  See!!!

I love it when almost 4 yr olds try to take pictures.  Aren't her fingrs adorable!

Dinosaur Play

Erin was playing dinosaurs the other day and the mommy dinosaur said, "I'm so tired!  I didn't get much sleep last night."  A little while later she told me that this was a daddy dinosaur and Erin and Levi.  She then looked at me and said, "Momma Dinosaur is at the grocery store getting candy.....please?"

Purple Boots

Saturday we went yardsaling as a family.  (Grimace)  I found some lovely purple snow boots for a dollar so I figured okay.  (Also found Erin 3 pairs of sketchers in awesome shape for 50 cents each.  AND a pair of light up pink princess boots for $1....total score!)  Well, Levi fell in love with the boots.  Now I can't get him to take them off.  Everywhere we go he has to wear the boots.  I thought that if I just put them away the phase would end but he tooked for them until he found them.  I figured it was picture worthy.....

I think the rear shot was cute too.

Morning of Laughs

This morning Erin went and sat in time out.  She then says, "Mom, I'm working on an attitude so I need to take a time out."

She's also been being a little tattletale lately so I'm trying to break that habit.  Today she comes in and says, "Mom I need to tell you something."  I said, "If you are tattling on Levi I don't want to hear it."  She pauses for a second, grins, and says, "I love you!"  and runs out of the kitchen.  Good choice!

Also this morning I told her that if she picked up the books in her room I would give her a carmel.  She thought about it and said, "I'll give you 1/2 my carmel if you help me."

Oh and another recent funny.  I found a whole bunch of lincoln logs for while yard saling.  Erin says, "Mom you are the greatest!"  Bucky then asked her what he was and Erin told him, "Dad you are the greatest at spanking bums!"

Baby Burps

When I burp Meagan sometimes I'll make comments like "Wow that one came all the way from your toes!"  Yesterday Meagan gave a really funny burp (almost a sideways burp if you can imagine it) and Erin pipes up and says, "Oh Meggie that came right from your fingertips!"

No Pepsi for Mama!

I was trying to get the kids to clean the livingroom happily today so we went to Harts.  I got a Pepsi and got them Laffy Taffy's.  I told them they could have the candy when the livingroom was clean.  Erin then logically stated, "Then you can't have your Pepsi until the livingroom is clean.".  I said, "Who's the Mom?"  She says, "I am."  I said, "Who's the boss?"  She says, "I am."  I said, "Who has the money?"  She says, "Please give me the money."  She can already win an arguement with me.  I gotta get some practice in before she's a teenager or I'll be in TROUBLE.

Timeout?

Took Meagan for her 4 month checkup yesterday.  Erin and Levi were being naughty so I told them if they didn't sit down and read their books while I talked to the doctor they were going to get a timeout.  Levi (2 year old Levi!) pipes right up with a big grin and says, "WHERE?"  I told him not to worry cuz I could find a corner.  I think he was terrified!  Not!

BTW-Meagan is now 15 1/2 lbs, 25 inches, and the proud owner of more immunization holes and a double ear infection.

Toothbrush Song

I've had quite a few requests for the toothbrush song from those who have heard it.  So here it is.  It goes to the tune of "I Love to See the Temple."

I Love to Brush My Teeth
I love to brush my teeth
I do it every day
So I don't get yucky cavities
And the dentist doesn't have to play.
For my teeth like to turn yellow
If I don't brush them daily.
So I have to brush and floss my teeth
So they stay nice and pearly.

I love to floss my teeth
I do it every day
It makes my mouth feel so clean
And all the germs go away.
For germs like to hide between my teeth
If I don't floss them daily.
So I'll keep flossing and brush my teeth
So they'll stay nice and healthy!

I know it is incredibly cheesy but my kids will keep their mouths open for the entire song so it achieves its purpose.  Oh and NO Sara I will not sing it outside of Walmart for you ever again!

I wanna be like you Dad!

Levi has turned into a little monkey.  Every thing you do or say he has to repeat.  Especially if he loves you!  Bucky was playing his game yesterday and sometimes he forgets himself and gets a little upset.  Well, he said bloody hell and Levi pipes right up and repeats it.  Then today we took Erin to preschool and he dropped his toy on accident and yells blood hell at the top of his voice.  Mrs. Amber thought it was hilarious but then she has had 5 \kids of her own!  Maybe now Bucky will remember who is listening!  Okay I guess I better watch myself too!
